At The Door Church we believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
Human beings are saved by God’s sovereign grace alone; that salvation is a gift of God through faith in the finished work on the cross of His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus shed His blood to accomplish justification through faith, propitiation to God, redemption from sin, and reconciliation of man. This gift is offered freely to all who repent of their sins and trust Christ’s substitutionary atonement on their behalf fully. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are freed from condemnation and given eternal life.
The body of Christ is a living spiritual body composed of all regenerated believers of whatever race or nation. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.
Experience the joy of worship and the power of community at The Door Church of Chicago Church. Our doors are always open to new members and visitors. Come as you are!

In biblical terms, tithing refers to the practice of giving a tenth, or 10%, of one's income or resources to support the work of the church or the religious community. Tithing has a rich history in the Bible and is found throughout the Old and New Testaments.
Abraham's Tithe: The concept of tithing can be traced back to the book of Genesis when Abraham offered a tenth of his spoils of war to the priest Melchizedek (Genesis 14:18-20). This act is often considered a precursor to the formalization of tithing.
Mosaic Law: Tithing became a more structured practice under the Mosaic Law. In Leviticus 27:30-32, the Israelites were instructed to give a tenth of their crops, livestock, and income as an offering to the Lord. This tithe supported the Levites, who were responsible for the religious duties of the community.
In the Bible, an offering is an act of gratitude to God. While tithing is required by Mosaic Law in Judaic tradition, an offering is a voluntary donation to the church or charity. People would make sacrifices as an offering to God for his favor. The offering symbolized the complete surrender or total dedication to God by an individual or
